Course Overview

The 2026 Surgical Symposium - Arthroscopy Lab, hosted by the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Foundation, will be held Saturday, December 12, 2026 at the Ohio State Jameson Crane Center, 2835 Fred Taylor Dr, Columbus, OH 43202. The symposium is approved for 8.5 Ohio Category 1 CME Hours.

This program features and arthroscopy lab with interactive lectures, expert panel discussions, surgical video demonstrations, and extensive cadaveric training conducted at the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine & Surgical Skills Lab in Columbus, Ohio.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Demonstrate fundamental arthroscopic skills, including portal placement and triangulation.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic ankle arthroscopy procedures.
• Apply arthroscopic techniques to the subtalar joint, first MTP joint, and selected midfoot joints.
• Understand emerging techniques including needle arthroscopy and endoscopic procedures.
• Recognize and avoid common complications associated with foot and ankle arthroscopy.
• Integrate advanced arthroscopic techniques into clinical practice.

This Seminar has been accredited by the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Foundation Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (the certifying agency in Ohio for podiatry). CME credit is established at 8.5 Ohio Category I CME Hours.

Cancellations
For paid registrations, a $25 administration fee will be charged. Cancellations must be received in writing to OFAMF prior to December 1, 2026. No refunds for cancellations will be honored after that date.

OFAMF reserves the right to adjust or change any lecture or schedule due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts. Note: There are limited spaces and registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis.

About the Faculty:

Said Atway, DPM - Lab Chair
Dr. Atway is a graduate of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He is board certified by
the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Atway is the Clinical Associate Professor at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and the director of the Limb
Preservation Program at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Roberto Brandão, DPM
Dr. Brandão is a graduate of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Residency and completed a one-year advanced foot and ankle surgery fellowship at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, OH. He currently serves as research director and Co-Fellowship Director at the Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Center Surgical Fellowship. He practices in the greater Columbus area including Gahanna and Zanesville.

Caleb McFerren, DPM
Dr. McFerren graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed his podiatric residence at The Ohio State University. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. McFerren is an assistant clinical professor of Orthopaedics and is active with the Podiatric Residency Program at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.  He is committed to helping advance the treatment options in podiatry and passionate about helping to educate the next generation of podiatrists.

Zach Washburn, DPM
Dr. Washburn graduated from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, completed his surgical residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center as
well as completed a one-year Advanced Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship in Cleveland, OH. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeryand specializes in foot and ankle reconstruction. Dr. Washburn also serves as an Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery and attending physician for the
Podiatric surgery residency program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
