The Gerard V. Yu, DPM Scientific Paper Competition and 2026 Resident Poster Competition will be held during the 110th Annual Ohio Foot and Ankle Scientific Seminar, Thursday, May 14, 2026.
This is an opportunity for active resident members of the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Association to showcase their talent and hard work in the presentation of their research.
2025 competition finalists received over $3,000 in cash and prizes!

Scientific Paper Competition - Submissions Due by February 6, 2026 and Finalists will be Notified by April 16, 2026
Resident finalists will present their research to a panel of five judges on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. The papers are first evaluated by a panel of five blind judges with no information about who submitted the paper or the program that it was submitted from. The blind judges scores are then added to the onsite presentation judges scores to determine the winner of the competition.
Scientific Poster Competition - Submissions Due by February 6, 2026 and Finalists will be Notified by April 16, 2026
The 2025 Ohio Resident Poster Competition received 25 submissions. A special thank you to all the Ohio Residency programs that participated in the competition.
2026 submissions will be evaluated by a separate panel of five judges to determine the winner. The five finalists will present a brief 5-minute presentation following the paper presentations on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
